Census data shows average age in Prince George is 40

The average age of Prince George residents is 40 according to Stats Canada.

Data gathered from the 2021 census shows the average age for men was 39.2, and the average age for women was 40.7

67% of Prince George’s population falls between the ages of 15-64.

16.9% of Prince George’s population is 14 years old or younger, 16.2% is 65 or older, and 1.5% is 85 or older.

The highest populated age group in the city was those between the ages of 25 and 29 (5,895).

The lowest populated age group was 100 years and over, as there were 5 people in that age group at the time of the census.

There are also slightly more women living in the Northern Capital than there are men.

According to Stats Canada, there are 38,495 women living in Prince George, compared to 38,215 men.

Stats Canada’s data also shows there were 31,795 private households in Prince George.

9,420 were occupied by one person, 11,210 were occupied by two people, 4,815 were occupied by three, 4,060 were occupied by four, and 2,290 were occupied by five or more people.

There were 76,708 people living in Prince George at the time of the census.
