Conservative leadership candidate Pierre Poilevre set to arrive in PG

One of the leadership candidates for the Conservative Party of Canada is slated to arrive in Prince George on Friday (April 8th).

Pierre Poilevre will be holding a meet and greet at the Coast Hotel at 6PM.

It’s part of his BC tour as he tries to gain support for the September 10th election for the party.

Poilevre has said that he wants to boost Canadian production of oil, while dramatically curbing foreign oil imports from countries like Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, and is promising to do that within five years of taking office.

Five candidates are running to lead the Tories, which includes Patrick Brown (Brampton Mayor), Leslyn Lewis (Ontario MP), former Quebec premier Jean Charest and Independent Ontario MPP Roman Baber.

Cariboo- Prince George MP Todd Doherty has put his support behind Poilevre, as one of the co-chairs for Poilevre’s BC campaign team.
