Five year goals have been set for PG Air with their latest Strategic Plan.
The goals listed for 2022-26 include:
- Improve air quality through plans and action
- Engage and inform the community about air quality and PG Air
- PG Air is an effective, action-oriented and collaborative organization
The organization said they have managed to reduce fine particulate matter in Prince George by 29% between 2005 and 2016.
“A lot of work has yielded big successes here. Further air quality
improvement will depend on creative and collaborative action from all segments of the Prince George community, from industry, to government, to local residents. It’s all hands on deck now,” said Manager Kim Menounos.
Over 400 old woodstoves have been replaced since the 2007 local woodstove exchange program as well.
The document for the non profit society said the strategic plan is not constraining, adding that if new issues came up they could adapt the plan.
