Farmer’s Market foggy on selling liquor

The Prince George Farmer’s Market is running into some obstacles with selling a new product.

They want to sell craft wine and beer at the market, but there has been confusion as to what the legal requirements are.

President Randall Stasiuk says right now they have to go through city hall.

“I don’t have a complete understanding of it,” says Stasiuk, “it has to do with their bylaw changes, in order to allow sales of liquor on city property, and we are a renter from the city, so I’m a little confused about what we have to do in order to make that happen.”

Stasiuk says a liquor permit from the city would cost $1500.

He’s been in talks with Cariboo Brewing and Northern Lights Estate Winery about selling liquor at the farmer’s market.
