COVID-19 has forced the withdrawal of one of the countries competing at the World Women’s Curling Championship in Prince George.
Tonight (Sunday) Scotland agreed with tournament organizers to halt play due to a rash of infections among the team.
Scotland began the worlds playing with just three curlers after skip Rebecca Morrison and alternate Fay Henderson tested positive prior to the event.
However, two more infections have been detected.
All teams who were scheduled to play Scotland this week will be credited with a forfeit victory according to the World Curling Federation.
Scotland fell 10-9 to the Czech Republic this morning (Sunday) and fell 12-1 to two-time defending champion Sylvana Tirinzoni and her Switzerland rink Saturday evening.
