449 people are in the hospital with COVID-19.
That’s according to BC Health officials, who said 63 of them are in intensive care.
Those numbers continue to drop, as there were 484 people in the hospital with the virus reported on Friday, and it’s been dropping for 28 days in a row.
Over the past three days, there were 997 new cases reported, with 79 in Northern Health:
- March 4-5: 385 new cases
- March 5-6: 327 new cases
- March 6-7: 285 new cases
The new cases include:
- Fraser Health: 263
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 209
- Interior Health: 242
- Northern Health: 79
- Island Health: 204
- People who reside outside of Canada: zero
In the past 72 hours there were 11 deaths reported, with one in the north.
Minister of Health Adrian Dix and Dr Bonnie Henry are expected to make an announcement on vaccine cards and masks on Thursday (March 10th).
93.3% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.8% received their second dose and 56.2% have received a third dose.
From Feb. 25 to March 3, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 19.1% of cases, and from Feb. 18 to March 3, they accounted for 31.9% of hospitalizations.

* Fully vaccinated: 2,100 (80.9%)
Past two weeks cases hospitalized (Feb. 18 to March 3) – Total 427
* Not vaccinated: 114 (26.7%)
* Partially vaccinated: 22 (5.2%)
* Fully vaccinated: 291 (68.1%)
Past week, cases per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Feb. 25 to March 3)
* Not vaccinated: 111.1
* Partially vaccinated: 47.3
* Fully vaccinated: 46.0
Past two weeks, cases hospitalized per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Feb. 18 to March 3)

* Fully vaccinated: 6.2
