Prince George RCMP are actively investigating a report they received on Friday (March 4th) around 9 AM where a man approached a young girl near Loyola Drive and Gladstone Place.
“The victim reported that a man in a small red and blue car approached her and spoke with her. The victim did not recognize as someone known to her. The student then ran straight to the school and reported the encounter,” said Cpl Jen Cooper.
Cooper added that they received multiple tips made to RCMP of matching vehicles, but after speaking with each person, police no longer have any suspects.
She said any kid in a similar situation should do the exact same thing.
“What this young victim did is follow her instincts and do exactly the right thing, which is run straight to a trusted adult and report the incident as quickly as possible. And that’s what we encourage children to do if they are in an uncomfortable situation or they think something just doesn’t feel right.”
If anyone has any information on this investigation, they’re asked to call the detachment.
