The Little Prince steam engine gets going this weekend at Fort George Park.
As the train passed its inspections earlier this week and will be accepting passengers barring a weather disruption.
CEO of Exploration Place Tracy Calogheros says the City has been helping with funding to maintain operations and keep things affordable:
“When I presented them with the budget, they agreed to the $25,000 contribution towards its operation. The actual entire operation is approaching $100,000 dollars by the time we get through a season, so we are trying to make up the difference with passenger fares, as well as corporate sponsors and donations”
Calagheros added that the price increase also means that you will be doing two laps around the track, and says museum members have the option of purchasing a $60 seasons pass to ride the train as much as they like.
She says fares will be slightly higher this year, as they will be charging $1 for infants under two, $2.50 for kids and seniors, and $3.50 for Adults.
