15 positions across four committees in Prince George are open for residents to apply for.
The committees, and how many positions are open include:
- five vacancies with the Advisory Committee on Accessibility
- four openings with the Advisory Committee on Development Design
- One position open with the Tourism Prince George Society Board of Directors
- five vacancies with the Advisory Committee on Council Remuneration
All applications except for the Advisory Committee on Council Remuneration need to be in by Friday (February 25th), with the Council Remuneration deadline set for March 18th.
Manager of Legislative Services Maureen Connelly said the positions with the Advisory Committee on Council Remuneration is a rare position that comes with some prerequisites.
“It’s a brand new one, we just got underway with doing our news publications on our city’s website. So we’ll get to providing some more communications to residents on that committee.”
“It’s a bit of a different one, it only comes up every four years, as required by the bylaw. So we don’t see this one on an annual basis, but it is in line with an election year,” added Connelly.
She said they are looking for a wide range of people to apply for these committee groups.
“We encourage residents who have an interest in the areas of accessibility, or perhaps development in the community, or even in tourism and marketing of our community to apply to any of those groups.”
“We have an online application form on our city’s website. So by completing that and hitting submit, it sends it directly to the city for review.”
Paper applications or forms by email are also available for anyone who wants them.
