UNBC and its non-faculty staff have reached an agreement.
The Five year tentative deal covers about 380 members including inside and outside support staff and the English Language Study instructors.
Caroline Sewell is the President of CUPE 3799, and says they met many times over the past few months:
“Well we started in the fall and came into the Spring, we met about 12 times altogether”
Sewell obviously couldn’t provide more information until the vote to ratify the agreement on Wednesday.
The staff now joins the more than 230 thousand public sector employees who are now covered by tentative or ratified deals, which is nearly three quarters of all unionized public sector employees.
