BC Health officials report that they’re no longer reporting the number of active cases and those that have discontinued isolation.
These stats are removed from both the pandemic updates, as well as the BCCDC dashboard.
There are 867 people in the hospital with COVID-19, down from the 893 yesterday (Wednesday).
Of those, 138 people are in intensive care.
There are 1,318 new cases of the virus, and the new cases include:
- Fraser Health: 275
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 168
- Interior Health: 444
- Northern Health: 232
- Island Health: 199
- People who reside outside of Canada: none
93.1% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.4% received their second dose and 51.1% have received a third dose.
There were five new deaths reported:
- Interior Health: two
- Northern Health: one
- Island Health: two
From Feb. 2-8, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 23.7% of cases. From Jan. 26 to Feb. 8, they accounted for 31.5% of hospitalizations.
