Bus routes in PG facing disruptions due to COVID-19

BC Transit wants Prince George residents to be aware of some possible route cancellations as COVID-19 is having an impact on their available drivers.

Jamie Weiss with BC Transit said they have some pandemic regulations in place, and that workers are being asked to stay home if they aren’t feeling well.

“We do have four more transit operators that are going through the training, they’ll be entering service in Prince George in the coming weeks. That will hopefully provide a little bit more stability.”

He added that they are still looking for more drivers if anyone is interested in driving a city bus.

Weiss said there are notifications that residents can sign up for on their website that are route specific, so people know if there going to be any delays or cancellations with their service.

“You can sign up to get email notifications whenever there’s an impact to that route, and that will help our customers know before before they go as they’re planning their day and their travel.”
