High School students to gain hands on industry experience

High school students from Prince George and across the country will be taking part in a unique opportunity over the next few days.

The Prince George Yellowhead Rotary Club has teamed up with local industries and post secondary institutions to bring grade 10, 11, 12 students the “Adventures in Forestry and Environmental studies” program.

Janine Fraser is Rotary Club President, and says these students gain hands on experience and take part in local tours of industry sites and institutions:

“… Introduce them to different parts of the industry where they can get a little bit of a taste of the different options out there available to them if they are interested in pursuing a career in that direction”

The program runs from May 6th through the 10th, and Fraser says they expect around 30 students to take part, with about half of those from out of Province.
