Northern Health total COVID-19 cases steadily dropping

B.C. is reporting 519 new cases of COVID-19, with 34 in Northern Health and 145 in Interior Health.

There are 3,171 active cases in the province, 213 are in the north (Monday had 240) and 612 are in the interior.

Of the active cases, 191 individuals are in hospital and 81 are in intensive care.

The new/active cases include:

110 new cases in Fraser Health
Total active cases: 872
106 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
Total active cases: 669
145 new cases in Interior Health
Total active cases: 612
34 new cases in Northern Health
Total active cases: 213
123 new cases in Island Health
Total active cases: 804
one new case of a person who resides outside of Canada
Total active cases: one

There have been 44 cases of the Omicron variant of concern identified in B.C.:

Fraser Health: 24
Vancouver Coastal Health: 11
Interior Health: three
Northern Health: one
Island Health: five

91.5% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 88.6% received their second dose and 13% have received a third dose.

91.9% of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 89.1% received their second dose and 14% have received a third dose.

In the past 24 hours, no new deaths have been reported.

Downtown Summerfest set for Saturday

Williams Lake RCMP investigating fatal crash

Just after 5pm on Saturday (July 12th), North District Corporal Madonna Saunderson said the Williams Lake RCMP received a report of the incident on Highway 97 at Mountain House Road. Saunderson added a Chev pickup and a Toyota Camry had collided and initial investigation indicates that the Toyota pulled out onto the highway in front of the pickup.
