Fort St. James hospital has had to make some quick changes.
Unforeseen circumstances have led to the temporary closure of the emergency department at Stuart Lake Hospital for 8 days in May.
This comes after the physician in the department unexpectedly cancelled their coverage due to personal reasons.
This temporary physician was actually covering for another permanent member who is also currently on personal leave.
The Hospitals Emergency room will be the only department affected by the closure, with the rest of the facility including the X-Ray and Lab still open and operating as usual.
Dates and times for emergency room closures are as follows:
May 7, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
May 12, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
May 14, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
May 23, 7 a.m. – May 25, 7 a.m.
May 26, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
May 28, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
