The 2022 BC Summer Games will begin on July 21st in Prince George, and the event is looking for both financial aid and in-kind support.
Mindy Stroet, Director for Friends of the Games said they have a huge list of things that they are looking for.
“We’re very aware of the state of the world right now, so our team is trying to do the best we can the earliest we can so that we do not have to worry about possible shipping delays or supply challenges,” said Stroet.
Stroet said some of the things they’re looking for are:
- Lumber
- Fuel
- Food
- Safety supplies like traffic cones
- Laptops/computers/printers
- Office supplies
“The list is very long and the more gifting in kind we are able to achieve, it means a bigger legacy for the community at the end.”
Stroet encourages anyone interested to reach out to her team at the Friends of the Games.
“The Friends of the Games, anyone can support us. It doesn’t matter what level you are at, or what you have to offer. I would encourage you to contact our team and have a conversation. Because this truly is a Games for Prince George and we want to include as many people as possible.”
Early supporters for the Summer Games have already donated $200,000 to the event.
Prince George will welcome 3,761 participants to the Summer Games, which will take place July 21-24, 2022.
