A considerable portion of the Hart Highway has been blocked off.

“Just remember that it is really dark out and some of our pedestrians are not wearing reflective gear so we just need to keep that in mind on areas where there are narrow shoulders. Slow down a bit and keep your eyes open,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer.

According to RCMP, traffic will be slowed down until at least noon and they are recommending drivers take Foothills Boulevard as an alternate route.

This is the second motor vehicle incident in three days involving a pedestrian in Prince George.

On Tuesday, the RCMP responded to the area of 1st Avenue and Quebec Street where a pedestrian was struck and killed.

Police are now wanting to speak with the owner of a white pickup truck who was in the area when the incident occurred.
