A Northern BC First Nations group is hoping to use four year old documents to challenge a Joint Review Panel decision on the Northern Gateway Pipeline.
The Haisla Nation says Environment Canada emails express concerns about the consultation process being flawed.
Chief Ellis Ross of the Haisla Nation says they are trying to get clarification on what is the discussion on this project.
“Cause the approach at the time that Canada was taking with us back then just didn’t make any sense, we want to know whether or not internally if Canada was satisfied with this justification of its approach to our rights and titles generally.”
He’s hoping this court case will be heard later this fall.
