Integrity BC notices common theme amongst BC communities, PG included

Integrity BC is noticing Prince George and other municipalities are doing something similar these days: bidding adieu to their Chief Administrative Officers.

Since November, eight councils across the province have either parted ways or fired their CAO’s.

What these groups have in common is that a new mayor or council has come into power.

Integrity BC Executive Director Dermod Travis says the problem with this is that these are not political positions.

“And yet more and more they are being perceived as political staff,” says Travis, “I think that if you are going to have the chief administrative officer or the city manager a political appointment, the public has the right to know that that is part of the equation.”

Back in January, Prince George City Council parted ways with former City Manager Beth James.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
