Update: PG police respond to shots fired call at local business

Update: Thursday, Oct 21 Noon

The Prince George RCMP report the vehicle police were searching for was located.

This investigation is still ongoing.

Original story: Monday, Oct. 18

A weekend shooting in the downtown core is under investigation by the Prince George RCMP.

Just after 7 am yesterday (Sunday), police received a call to a business on the 700 block of Second Avenue for reports of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they discovered evidence of several shots fired into the back of the building.

Surveillance obtained by investigators shows what looks like a dark coloured, Volkswagen Jetta, with the back passenger window covered in plastic, leaving the area shortly after the incident.

However, the information attached to the license plate does not match the vehicle seen in the video.

“Police are looking for anyone with further information on this vehicle or this event to please contact an investigator by calling 250-561-3300. We are thankful that no one was hurt in this incident,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers.
