City working to understand how new restrictions will impact civic facility operations

The City of Prince George is working to determine how the new public health orders will impact city services and guests at civic facilities.

The orders were announced yesterday (Thursday) and will be implemented in most local health areas across the North until Friday, November 19.

“The City is working with Northern Health to determine how the Orders will be implemented by the City of Prince George,” says Adam Davey, Director of Public Safety. “We are continuing to seek clarification from the Province and are fully committed to any necessary measures to ensure our staff and our citizens are safe and healthy.”

In particular, the City is working to determine whether any events scheduled for City facilities, including the CN Centre and the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre, will be affected by the new Orders.

According to the City, none of the scheduled events are cancelled at this time and the logistics of scanning immunization records and IDs at multiple points of entry will be considered along with the required health and safety protocols.

At this time, the City doesn’t expect the new rules will have any effect on Aquatic Services, but further information will be provided once it becomes available.
