The integrity of vehicles on Prince George roads came into question last weekend, as a joint roadcheck effort from the RCMP and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Unit took place.
The purpose of these roadchecks was to identify defective vehicles, those with illegal lighting, and other infractions.
During their time on the roads the teams observed a number of violations including 112 vehicle defects, 5 impaired driving charges, and a whopping 145 unauthorized lighting assemblies.
Violation tickets were also given out to those with cracked winshields, tinted windows, defective or bald tires and unsecure cargo.
The RCMP are wanting to remind the public that aftermarket equipment should always be in compliance with the Motor Vehicle Act and its regulations.
