The driver of a stolen vehicle that caused a three-vehicle collision in October 2020 pleaded guilty in court this month.
Jocelyn Rae Rose Wood received a two-year Conditional Sentence order and a two-year driving prohibition after pleading guilty to three separate charges stemming from a motor vehicle incident that occurred on October 28, 2020
RCMP says the incident occurred on Highway 97 just north of the Simon Fraser Bridge and involved two pick-up trucks and an ambulance.
As a result of the incident, several people suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The 35-year-old Chetwynd woman was sentenced with the following:
- Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
- Failure to comply with demand after accident resulting in bodily harm
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
This incident garnered significant public interest as the dangerous driving behaviour resulted in a three-vehicle incident with one of the vehicles involved being an ambulance that was transporting two patients. Several people were injured in the crash and Highway 97 was closed for a significant period of time while police gathered evidence,
stated PG RCMP Corporal Jennifer Cooper.
According to the PG RCMP, charges against the two co-accused individuals were dropped.
