Prince George RCMP seize illegal firearms and arrest four people

The Prince George RCMP are sharing thanks to the residents who reported a couple of incidents that lead to multiple arrests and the seizure of illegal firearms.

On September 17, officers received a call from a person who could hear a loud argument going on and believed they saw something suspicious being loaded into the trunk of a nearby car.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers seized several illegal firearms and arrested two people for violating their court-ordered conditions to not be in possession of firearms.

One more arrest was made for unauthorized possession of a firearm.

A few days later, police received a report of two people near a shopping centre with what appeared to be stolen merchandise.

Frontline members arrived at the location and located two men matching the description provided.

This investigation resulted in police arresting one of the men for breaching his court-ordered conditions, not to be in possession of firearms, as they located a firearm on him.

26-year-old Jordan Louis Bear of Quesnel is now facing charges of obstructing a police officer and failure to comply with a release order.

Bear will remain in custody until his next court appearance.

“We want to thank the people of Prince George for calling the police when they notice suspicious activity happening around them, and we want to encourage people to continue calling in these types of occurrences. Police were able to get several firearms off the streets because individuals took the time to alert us to their observations,” stated Prince George RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
