CEO of The Exploration Place wins Outstanding Career Achievement Award

The Canadian Association of Science Centres has awarded Prince George’s own Tracy Calogheros with the CASCADE Outstanding Career Achievement Award for her work at The Exploration Place.

Calogheros has been working with The Exploration Place since 1994 and has been the CEO since 2003.

“The CASCADE Award for Outstanding Career Achievement captures the incredible impact Tracy has made both on The Exploration Place and the advancement of museums and science centres in Canada,” says Peter James, President of The Exploration Place Board of Trustees.

“Under Tracy’s leadership, The Exploration Place engages the curiosity of community members, shares the importance of science literacy, and facilitates important discussions about our shared history.”

The Exploration Place has been shut down since March 13, 2020, due to the pandemic, but has been undergoing renovations.

There’s no definitive date on when the centre will be back open to the public, but exhibits revolving around repatriation, geology, and local content are being overhauled to get ready for a future opening day.
