Two new playgrounds are available in Prince George for kids aged 5-12 to enjoy.
They’re situated in Seymour Park, near Carrie Jane Gray Park, and in St. John Park in the College Heights neighborhood.
City crews are applying final touches, updating landscaping, and adding a picnic table at each location.
The features at both parks include:
- Double tower and tot-friendly slides.
- Two-bay swing sets with seating for toddlers and older children.
- Climbing structures, balancing elements, and obstacle courses.
- Saddle spinners.
- Picnic tables and bear-resistant waste bins.
As part of the City’s 2017 Park Strategy, nearly half of PG’s 48 playgrounds have been renewed or replaced in the past five years.
Additionally, working with the Heather Park Parent Advisory Council, the City installed a wheelchair-friendly park at Heather Park.
The plan will be reviewed in 2022 to determine additional updates that may be required over the next 10 years, as an annual update is given to Council each fall.
