UNBC Professors gets award for First Nations studies work

A UNBC Professor has been recognized for her work in promoting First Nations peoples.

Dr. Antonia Mills has received the Paz Buttedahl Career Achievement Award from the Confederation of University Faculty Associations of British Columbia.

Mills says her biggest accomplishment has been the publication of three books.

“One of them is “Eagle Down Is Our Law: Witsuwit’en Feasts, Laws and Land Claims which is a publication of the report that I did for the Witsuwit’en for the Delgamuukw-Gisdaywa Land Claims Court Case.”

Mills says the other two books she wrote are about reincarnation belief and land claims.

The award recognizes sustained contributions over the course of a career to the non-academic community through research and scholarly activity.
