Parents living in the Carney Hill neighbourhood have a new support system.
The Parent Support Service has set up a Parent Support Circle at the local centre on Pine Street.
Local Parent Support Service Coordinator Jessica Turner says the goal is to create a network of peer support parents.
“You can either have your children, or for some reason you don’t have your children,” says Turner, “you just have to be a parent or in a care giving role, foster parents as well, its a self help style group.”
Turner says there are similar support circles spread throughout the city.
The only area where there is not a Parent Support Circle is in the Hart.
