Charges against a Kelowna man have been approved following an incident in the Hart earlier this week.
38-year-old Calvin Albert Jones is facing the following charges after police held an extended presence on Grant Road on Monday after a report of an assault.
- Forcible confinement
- Assault by Choking, Suffocating or Strangling
- Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Uttering Threats x2
- Possession of Weapon
- Mischief Under $5000
Shortly before 9 am on Monday, Prince George RCMP officers received a call about an assault on the 2500 block of Grant Road.
Officers arrived at the location alongside the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services and located the suspect without incident.
Police attended the location and with the assistance of on-duty members of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, located the suspect without incident and made an arrest.
According to Prince George RCMP Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Jones has a history of similar violent offenses and he will remain in custody until his court appearance later this month.
“Investigators are releasing these details due to the violent nature of this offense and the concern that Mr. Jones may have other victims in the area. If you have been a victim of a violent offense involving Mr. Jones, you can contact police by calling 250-561-3300 to speak with a police officer,” states Cooper.
