The BC Wildfire Service is going to set planned fires tomorrow (July 30) to try and limit the spread of the Tentfire Creek blaze.
If the conditions are ideal, smoke will be visible from Tumbler Ridge, Mast Road, and the Murray FSR.
The planned ignition area is roughly 650 hectares, with a length of four kilometres, and located 8.5 kilometres west of Mast Road.
No roadways are expected to be impacted, but RCMP will be on-site at Mast Road just in case.
The Tentfire Creek wildfire is about 2,400 hectares in size, is classified as out of control, and is considered a wildfire of note in the PG Fire Centre.
The #BCWildfire Service will undertake planned ignitions on the Tentfire Creek wildfire to remove unburned fuel in the fire’s path, thereby helping to limit the fire’s potential for growth and spread.
