Prince George is heating up today (Saturday), as today’s high is 34 degrees.
Environment Canada Meteorologist, Nan Lu says today’s high will break the 96-year-old record daily high for June 26th in the Northern Capital.
“For today, the record is 33.3 for the Prince George area and that record was set in 1925,” she explained.
The city is expected to get even hotter as it could reach up to 38 degrees tomorrow (Sunday), and 39 degrees on Monday.
“With our current guidance, it looks like Tuesday or Wednesday the temperatures should start to cool, but the temperatures don’t really cool down that much, it’s more cooling to the record temperatures but it won’t be breaking records anymore,” she added.
Prince George’s record highs for the end of June are around 30 to 23 degrees.
