The heat is on! Environment Canada issues Heat Warning for PG

Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for Prince George and many B.C. cities beginning on Friday.

The warning will last until Tuesday as daytime highs could range from 29 to 36 degrees over the next few days.

Environment Canada says that while tomorrow’s (Thursday) high for Prince George will be in the low to mid 20’s, it will increase to 33 on Friday and reach the mid 30’s by Saturday.

The warning also applies to numerous regions across the province including the Cariboo, Chilcotin and Bulkley Valley.

Environment Canada reminds residents to drink plenty of water, stay in cool places, check on older family members, and never leave pets in a parked vehicle.

Additionally, watch for symptoms of heat-related illnesses including dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and increased thirst.
