A local firefighter and UNBC Assistant Basketball coach is taking on the David Goggins 4x4x48 running challenge for a good cause.
Aaron Brouwer will be running four miles every four hours over a 48 hour period on June 29th.
“I’ve had seven knee surgeries over the past 20 years and it’s kind of limited my competitive sports, I grew up playing basketball. So I wanted to find something to keep me active,” said Brouwer.
He set up a Gofundme page with the goal of raising $100 per mile for a total of $4800.
The funds will be used as $1200 credits towards four local businesses, and these credits will go to four local families in need.
Brouwer’s fundraising page reads, “During this pandemic, we all know people who have struggled that could use some help or a pick-me-up, and now more than ever we need to support local businesses.”
Brouwer has already reached his fundraising goal but is still accepting donations.
I am so excited that we hit our fundraising goal of $4800. Now we have the opportunity to help even more people; all money raised over the goal will go towards other nominated families. For more information on donation please go to my website: https://t.co/6Im25Y5zHK
