The Prince George Airport was recently handed an award.
Hope Air, is a company that covers travel costs for those in financial need and for those who have to fly for medical treatment.
Recently, at the Canadian Airport Council’s annual conference Hope Air awarded YXS with its outstanding philanthropist award. Recognizing exceptional civic responsibility and outstanding generosity.
Hope Air Executive Director Doug Keller-Hobson says Prince George was a favourite destination in 2014:
“We did slightly over one thousand flights to and from Prince George, thats a fair amount when you think that we did just a little over nine thousand flights overall across the country”
Keller-Hobson says the airport advertises for them pro-bono throughout the terminal, while also running an annual golf tournament along with other small fundraisers and support.
