Public sector workers are earning more than those who work in the private sector.
That coming from the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses, who have released a report showing anywhere from a 2-15% difference in salary between the two sides.
Chief Economist Ted Mallett says how much a government worker is earning depends on what level they are at.
“What jurisdiction, what city, and so on there is a wide range,” says Mallett, ” in some areas the public sector is making less than the private sector in some particular areas.”
Mallett says the report shows that private sector workers make $8500 less than those in the public sector.
They also work up to six hours more each week.
