ICYMI: Family Day Adventure Cruise hits the streets of Prince George

Prince George will be hosting a city-wide Family Day Adventure Cruise today (Monday).

The Adventure Cruise is a contest that was created to get families out of their houses and engaged in the community, it kicks off at 11 am and ends at 4pm.

“We will release the Adventure Card that has a list of 25 things to do around town just before the event start time,” said Dave Horton, event director, “These activities range from self-directed things like photographing Waldo at Cottonwood Island Park to other things like getting a drive-thru cookie from Ness Lake Bible Camp and take a photo with a downtown mural.”

There will be a total of 25 activities to be checked off on the Adventure Card that will be released on the Adventure Cruise Facebook page, just before the event begins.

“As you complete the self serve activities like the drive thru’s and the games, you take photos and enter those photos once the event is done at 4 pm and those photos get you entered to win all sorts of prizes,” explained Horton.

Horton says other local events such as UNBC’s Open House, that have taken place during the pandemic inspired this event.

“I knew that there would be a huge need for an event, there would be families that have a traditional plan but didn’t have those options this year,” said Horton.

There is no registration required and participants are being asked to post the photos taken during the event with the hashtag, #pgadventurecruise to be entered in the contest.
