Local preschool downsizing and making programming changes

Prince George’s Child Development Centre is making some changes to its programming.

Due to rising costs, and a decrease in enrollment the daycare will now be offering just 8 seats instead of the previous 16.

Executive Director Darrell Roze says they will also be discontinuing regularly scheduled preschool classes in June:

We do assessments both in the preschools and the daycare, and thats the one piece that we are discontinuing. We do provide some specialized preschool services that are specific to children with special needs and we are continuing to provide those”

To be perfectly clear, Roze says they are NOT discontinuing their daycare services, and says these changes will allow them to juggle their funding and accommodate 9 additional spaces for children under 3 years of age.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
