The Prince George RCMP along with the North District Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services attended a police standoff incident on the 1600 block of 11th Avenue.
Just after 12:00 pm, today (Wednesday) police were called to the area for an abandoned 9-1-1 call.
“This is a house that is known to police and has been on our radar for some time,” said PG RCMP Constable Jennifer Cooper.
Witnesses in the area say they have heard loud noises, resembling gunshots or some type of flare.
“Many people have come out of the residence but there is still some inside,” explained Cooper,” we don’t know what their situation is so we’re just trying to get them out.”
She adds police are negotiating with people inside the building.
There is currently no danger to the public but police do ask that the public avoid the area for the time being.

Three people have also been escorted from one of the neighbouring houses.
A witness who’s going by the name (K-man) recorded this video of the loud noise, which may have been a flare gun. pic.twitter.com/oH3pyBweQM
