Over $175k raised for Prince George Salvation Army Kettle Campaign

After a full month of campaigning, the Salvation Army’s largest fundraiser has wrapped up.

The organization says a total of $176,750 was raised for the cause, falling just short of the initial goal of $250,000.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, fundraisers could only be in half of the normal locations this year.

“The message of being socially distanced, and supporting us in other ways got through because our online contributions were through the roof!” said Major Neil Wilkinson.

The Salvation Army currently serves over 1,000 households in the community each month.

The funding from the Kettle Campaign will go towards keeping the program up and running.
