There’s going to be an impressive light show over Northern BC, and much of Canada tonight.
As Space Weather Prediction Centres are watching a severe geo-magnetic storm in our atmosphere, which translates into… the Northern Lights.
Meteorologist Lisa Coldwell with Environment Canada says the sun sets just before 7:30, with the best views shortly after that:
“Let the sun set, let twilight end, and then as it gets dark that’s a good time to go out. So as we mentioned the sun sets at about 7:30 tonight. So about 8 o clock, 8 till 9 – is probably the best time to get out before it gets too cloudy”
Coldwell says the best place to be is out of town where there is very little light pollution, and mentioned elevated or open positions like ski hills are some of the best viewing positions.
