Aboriginal Youth from across the country have come together in Prince George.
Its all a part of The Gathering voices Conference, which puts nearly a thousand First Nations youth in workshops, activities, and cultural events.
Executive Director of the BC association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres Paul Lacerte explains why its so important for these individuals:
“[It’s] essentially to help improve the quality of life for aboriginal people and by getting those young people and giving them the skills, experience and the positive networks that they need to change their circumstances for the better”
The conference runs from the 17th to the 20th of March.
Lacerte says this is the 12th conference of its kind in the last 15 years, and the third time its being held in Prince George.
