Some power outages remain from weekend storm

Near Hurricane force winds battered parts of BC this weekend, wreaking havoc with power grids across the Province

Spokesperson for BC Hydro Bob Gammer, says there are still some blackout areas:

“Some of the outages are affecting a few hundred or even over a thousand customers, but many outages are just one or two. Thats whats making it harder for our crews to get around to all of the work that needs to be done”

He says driving to all these different locations is taking a lot of time, but says they have a lot of crews coming from outside of the region and expects all power to be up by 7 pm Monday evening.

Gammer also mentioned that at the height of the storm nearly 10,000 customers in PG – and nearly 25% of the area – were without power. While over 45,000 customers were in the dark Province wide.
