For the tenth straight year, Vista Radio teamed up with St. Vincent De Paul Society for its Community Christmas Fundraiser, and it was a smashing success.
Over $33,000 in cash and donations was raised for the cause, a number organizers were not anticipating.
Bernie Goold, President of the St.Vincent De Paul Society in Prince George, says this year broke a record despite the pandemic.
“The generosity was just incredible. We’re humbled but we are also deeply privileged to serve because of all of the generosity we recieve,” she explained.
She says the particularly touching donations came from children.
“A little boy came in with $80, he sold all his bottles to bring here,” Goold recalls.
Last year the campaign raised over 15-grand in cash plus thousands of dollars worth of donations.
