The United Way of Northern BC is bringing back the Tree of Lights to Prince George this holiday season.
Like most things, the event will be different because of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, organizers are hoping it will still be a success.
The 60-foot tree will be stationed atop the Coast Hotel downtown.
“UWNBC aims to shine a light on that which is darkest and connect the need where it is greatest,” said ExceTrista Spencer.
“Perhaps this year, more than ever, we need to find ways to find togetherness while staying apart,” she added.
UWNBC has set a fundraising goal of $30,000, with proceeds going to supports for drug addiction, mental wellness, and the overdose crisis in Prince George.
In addition, a ‘partner tree’ will also be set up in Fort St. John, with a fundraising goal of $10,000.
