Two more Prince George men charged

Updated Story at 1:45 PM

A familiar name to police was one of two people charged by the Prince George RCMP today (Friday) after a search warrant on the 400-block of South Lyon Street.
21-year-old Thomas Joshua Toman and 28-year-old Jamie Wade Fatum have been charged.
Fatum was taken into custody in May after a traffic stop on Austin Road and he was also handed three gun-related offenses in May of 2016 following an incident on 17th Avenue and Upland Street.
RCMP Superintendent Shaun Wright spoke with MyPGNow.com.
“Over the last couple of weeks, there has been a spike in a violent incidents and we’ve put a lot of attention and directed enforcement action towards those groups. We have made significant inroads and I think we will see things return to a normal state here.”
“We focused our efforts on the individuals involved and over the last week we have put a concerted effort towards the activities of the two rival groups and resulted in this search warrant as well as another last night (Thursday) in regards to drug trafficking.”
Five shootings and fire were tied to a conflict with a pair of rival groups with connections to the drug trade.
Both men are facing a number of charges, including 2 counts of careless storage of a firearm and 2 counts of possession of a firearm without a license.
