A team from Northern health is making its way to Zimbabwe tomorrow to offer medical support to a country currently lacking in proper medical care.
29 medical students, physicians and practitioners will be making their way east, including Bobbi Batchelor a 4th year medical student who spoke about the main focus of the month long endeavor:
“Its an opportunity for us to be looking at mainly maternal and child health there, and trying to also help establish in the communities – outside of a medical context – avenues for children.”
She says they will also be spending a portion of their trip at the HIV clinic, in order to see how well the current healthcare system is dealing with the issue.
