42-year-old Christopher Frank Phillips from Alberta is facing multiple charges in relation to several offences that occurred in Prince George.
The charges come after a string of events last Friday, when RCMP officers attempted to execute a traffic stop and found the vehicle was associated with a person with outstanding arrest warrants.
The driver immediately fled down Victoria Street with officers choosing not to pursue.
Moments later, RCMP received reports of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 8th Ave and Vancouver St.
Officers attended and found the suspect’s vehicle had collided with another vehicle, and the male driver fled on foot.
The driver then entered another vehicle being driven, it was located near the intersection of 3rd Ave and Victoria St minutes later, it was stopped then the two occupants were taken into custody.
The lone occupant of the vehicle that was struck by the suspect’s vehicle was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Phillips was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant out of Red Deer.
He is also wanted for drug-related charges in Ontario from August 2018 and remains in custody, he is scheduled to appear in court on September 16th.
The 32-year-old man arrested with Phillips has been released without charge.
