YXS experiences passenger spike in July

Three times more people circulated through the Prince George Airport
in July, compared to June.

Last month, 9,707 passengers came through YXS, compared to 3,505 during June.

That’s a gradual improvement from April and May of this year.

“This increase is a sign that the safety protocols being implemented by our airport and others is leading to an
increased confidence in travellers ” said Gordon Duke, President, and CEO.

Overall, the airport experienced a passenger of 96% in April and May along with a 91% dip in June.

YXS believes August numbers should show a continued recovery as Flair Airlines starts flying on Sunday with
flights to Edmonton and Vancouver.

In addition, WestJet will be operating more flights to Vancouver in September along with Air Canada.

Central Mountain Air is operating flights three days a week to Kamloops, Kelowna, Terrace/Kitimat, and Fort St. John.

Masks are mandatory at YXS and only employees and passengers with a valid ticket, are permitted inside the terminal.
