Winter blues melting away?

Is Winter over in PG?

With all the sunshine and relatively balmy temperatures lately its hard not to wonder if we’ve seen the last of the precipitation and colder weather for this year.

Meteorologist Jennifer Hays was reticent to give a distinct answer, but she did give some insight into the coming week which may hint at a pattern over the next month:

“We have a couple of cold days in the short term and then it looks like that big arctic ridge that’s over the province pushes a bit to the south and east bringing a return to a southerly flow. So it looks like the end of this week and by the weekend its looking a warmer and actually above normal”

February was unusual, with an overall average of around -3, which also saw higher overnight lows account for an overall warmer than normal month.

She says while there may still be a few light flurries through the first week of March, we are in for some warmer weather towards the middle of the month, with low precipitation levels expected.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
