City rescinds evacuation alert for Farrell Street residents

Following today’s announcement that the BC River Forecast Centre had downgraded the flood risk in the area, The City of Prince George is rescinding the evacuation alert for the residents of Farrell Street.

Farrell Street is near Paddlewheel Park, which has also experienced flooding from the Fraser River.

The BC River Forecast Centre predicts water levels will remain below flood level in the coming days, after approaching the threshold over the weekend.

City staff will continue to monitor water levels, and Cottonwood Island, Hazelton and Paddlewheel Parks remain closed.
